Easy Holiday Glam (with pictorial!)

When you think of Christmas time, you think of egg nog, spiced wine, wearing ugly sweaters while you put that golden star on your tree, reminiscing good old family times while you watch the snow gently trickle down outside from your window, right?

Now, since I celebrate Christmas in Malaysia, the only thing I really have from that little picture of perfection is the star on the tree, and its not even gold, its silver. However, fret not because Christmas is still a time where lovely parties happen no matter where you live (and Lord knows, I love a good party), and I’m going to show you how to get an easy holiday glam look with just 6 steps.

The look I went for is a nice, golden sultry eye, glowy skin and red lips (of course!). Very festive, and super simple to do. People will definitely think you’ve put in way more effort than you actually have. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Step 1: Prime your eyelids with a shimmery base.

Step 2: Using a reddish burgandy mixed with a warm mid brown, sweep this over your crease area in window-wiper motions with a fluffy brush until the colours have blended out nicely. This will give you the effect of warm looking eyes without needing to go over that area more than once. Make sure that you concentrate this in the crease area and the outer corner of your eye only, and try to leave as much of the lid area bare as you possibly can.

Step 3: Taking a flat shader brush, pick up a champagne-toned gold, and apply this on the lid space which we left bare earlier. Lightly blend out the shadow into the crease colour, just enough that there isn’t a harsh line, but don’t over blend otherwise there will be no distinction between the colours.

Step 4: Using the colours used in Step 3, gently run that along the inner lower lashline with a small definer brush. Taking that same brush, use the colours from Step 2 and apply on the outer lashline. This helps to balance out the eye and makes sure the look is not too top heavy. Using a light shimmery colour, apply this in the inner V of your eye where the tear duct is to highlight and make the eyes stand out more.

Step 5: I personally like wearing my eyeliner winged, but you can choose to wear this with simple liner and false eyelashes as well.

Step 6: Carefully run a waterproof pencil liner in your waterline and blend out slightly. Finish up with some mascara and you’re done!

I’m really happy with how this eye look turned out. Now all you need to do is to pair this up with a good red lipstick. I chose one that was a slightly darker cherry shade, which complimented this look really well.
